YSA Conference?
Perhaps you are not completely familiar with the term “YSA Conference”. The best way of finding out what and how much fun it is, is by registering for this year of course….. But a few facts wouldn’t hurt.
The YSA conference is a summer camp for Young single adults in the age category from 18 to 30 years old. The camp is organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
YSA activities
Activities are organized by the Young single adults Group throughout the whole year. On a regular basis, daces are held, these are fun parties where everyone is able to dance to good Music. Apart of that there fireside evenings, where there is discussion on a variety of interesting subjects. There is also a YSA service in Gouda each First Sunday of the month, this is a church service especially organized for people between 18 and 30 years of age in The Netherlands and the Dutch-speaking region in Belgium (Vlaanderen). The topics of the discussions are always chosen on the basis of what goes around in the YSA Group. And of course the biggest hit: summer camp! Here you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people, make new friends, enjoy the workshops and have lots of fun!
YSA Conference 2010: You’ve got the power
Each year, the summer camp has a certain theme to make everything to (een mooi geheel). This year the theme is “You’ve Got The Power”. We will thoroughly discuss a broad scale of aspects that have to do with the theme. There are also many different activities, there will be something for everyone. You can compose your own program by putting together the activities which seem most enjoyable to you. This way you can put together the camp program entirely according to your own preference.
Church of Jesus Christ?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints….. Maybe it will already ring a bell, but if you are still left with questions, here follows a brief explanation with some useful links.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a Christian church that has been organized in the way Jesus Christ has organized it. Things that distinguish us from other Christian churches is that we believe that God still reveals His truth to living prophets just like He always has in the past and so the gospel is for everyone. The book of Mormon which we use as a companion to the Bible was also written by prophets but in the Western Hemisphere. These prophets also testified of Christ and therefore the Book of Mormon is used as “another testament of Jesus Christ” as it also indicates on the front cover.
The church with its 12 million in membership is spread throughout the whole World, from Europe and Africa to Asia, from South-America to North-America. For more information check out the www.mormon.org or the official church website www.lds.org . Of course you are also welcome at any one of the congregations spread out through the world or you can send us an e-mail.
